I come from an NHS background, with a career spanning 10 years in Healthcare and have a wide range of experience working in Community Clinics, Hospitals, children's centres, Nurseries mainstream Schools and Client's homes. Throughout my time working for the NHS, I have developed my skills and expertise working with a wide range of children aged between 1-19 years old with a variety of different speech and language difficulties. I have vast experience working with children with Developmental Language Disorder, expressive/ receptive language delay, speech sound delay/ disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Stammers and voice difficulties. My Post-graduate experience includes the 'Michael Palin Parent-Child interaction' for stuttering, Hanen trained in 'It Takes Two To Talk'- a programme to support children with language delay, Attention Autism, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication system) and signalong.
I started Rebecca Pearson Speech and Language Therapy in 2018 whilst I was pregnant with my little boy. I knew I wanted to create a future that meant I could be more flexible after starting a family, however my primary goal was to work in a profession I love, providing a consistent and effective approach to therapy. My aim is to provide a personable and hollistic approach in supporting your child's communication goals and also listening and understanding the needs of the whole family. I am extremely passionate about what I do and I work to ensure this is always reflected in my work with children, their families and caregivers.
